Ranchi Police closes own informer's murder case due to lack of evidence

Budhu Das's murder, occurring close to vital governmental premises, stirred a flurry of investigative efforts from Ranchi Police, yet it culminated in an unsolved case. Das, known for his role in gathering Naxal-related intel, was fatally shot while commuting home with his wife near the Police Lines. The alleged assailants ambushed the couple, fatally shooting Das. Investigations implicated rivalry over the Bundu bus stand tender, with Bablu Kumhar allegedly orchestrating the murder, yet he was acquitted due to lack of evidence, a testament to the investigation's failures.
